Beach Break Live - 21.06.10

WOW! What can i say really? Possibly one of the best weeks ever! Backstage & VIP access! Score!!Myself & Will got in touch with BBL when we found out they were hoping to have kiting at the event to see if there was anything we could do to help. Knowing this was a perfect location for it!

We had had the Rugby rocks ever on the Saturday and with a slight hangover on the Sunday we missioned our way from London to Pembrey, South Wales!Having gone through heavy rain on the journey we arrived at the location to Sunshine and wind! After a short meeting with the event staff i met up with the SKA crew who had already set up an area on the campsite marked out by Flexifoil banners!

As it was windy we all headed down the beach and got in a sneaky session before just chilling in the evening.

+ Monday

It was abit of a mellow get everything sorted get everyone into the event day and as there was no wind no kiting was done!

+ Tuseday

The official start to the event! We headed down to the beach and marked out our zone first thing, the wind was far from ideal being offshore but there was bit there so we got the 8.5 Blade's out for a buggy session. We mainly just chilled on the beach getting on with everything while Marc from Blast Kiteboarding looked after the tuition side of the event.During the day we rode and just showed what the sport was about before packing up and heading to the main area.We were mega lucky that we were parking/sleeping in vans right behind the main stage meaning we didn't miss a thing!

That night was Vampire Weekend, Plan B plus a few others in the Dance tent, can't fully remember night as it got a little messy!

+ Wednesday

Waking up with a slight hangover we headed to Tescos to stock up on food and to grab Breakfast!

Back at the event we set up our zone and the wind was in our favor, well slightly. It was blowing onshore but very light so we pumped the 14.5 Ion's up and got the 8.5 Blades outs. Some went out on the water but it was more cursing than anything else! The rest of day was spent just chilling on beach, riding and having fun!

In the evening we headed to Ellie Goudling & Calvin Harris with the SKA lot which once again quite messy & can't really remember exactly what happened or where we went!+ Thursday

The final day, so we went all out! We set up a nice little area and having spoken with Red Bull they brought there music truck down to our end of beach to keep all the kiters entertained.

We teamed up with Ian from Expix to get some photos and Red Bull allowed us to jump off the truck to get some photos!! Cheers guys!

That night was killer! We headed to the RedBull VIP tent for the afterparty after Chasing Status. From this then headed over the silent disco before just chilling out and heading back at about 4/5am! Will had decided to leave his phone in the van and set an alarm for 6amish! This didn't go down to well!

+ Friday

The mission home, and a mission it was! It took 10 1/2 hours in total with having to go through Central london as the M25 was shut! Bad times! But the journey was so worth it! An epic event and can not wait to go back in 2011!
