With it being my birthday this week i decided to head to the coast to get a couple of sessions in. It was high tide at mid day so in the morning went for a kitesurf session.
Expecting it to be mid teens to 20 it was suprirsing to find it in high 20's - 30's. Lukcily i had packed my 9 otherwise I would have been screwed. The water was rough as hell with nasty shore dump, luckily the beach curves allowing you to get out back if you go the right way.
The waves out back were over head ehight as they rolled in which was very fun indeed! It get you on your toes thats for sure. One thing with it being this rough was it was hard to time jumps which was not great but was a epic surfing session.
We headed back and grabbed some lunch before heading out for an afternoon/evening session. The wind was still as strong and with an empty beach myself & Sy opted for the 5m Blurr to really give it a thacking! What a peice of kit, it had sooo much power but that you could use, and the speed were were holding was immense!!
After a while i swapped down to the 3.5 to do some kite 360, there was only one space to do this and that was where veryone else was flying so timing was crucial!
I then opted for the 6.5 Blade IV, this was too do some freestyling but it was soo powered it was hard work, the jumps were nice & floaty, did manage some nice wakestyle tricks as did not need to move kite to get airs or to do tricks.
A great session which totally knackered the hell out me.
