The Blurr is the new buggy kite from Flexifoil for 2008. It is aimed at the buggier wanting more performance than the Flexifoil Rage, but without the lift of the Blade IV & more speed. Most race kites become twitchy to fly & very sensitive to any movements or changes in wind, for example gusts or lulls in the wind. For the majority of buggiers this is not what they want from a kite. The kite is extremely stable & very versatile. It has the Triple A Adjusters similar to the Blade allowing you to tweak the kite in different winds.
Speed Buggying

The Blurr is not a full on race kite, but it is an extremely fast kite. If you’re a buggier who wants to go fast down the beach, but want an easy to use kite that’s stable than the Blurr is ideal. At a local spot we have tested against another race kite, I was on the 2.5 & could just about keep up but not fully when the other kiter was in a small race buggy & on a 3.0m. I went up to the 3.5 and this could easily keep up and even catch up & overtake the dedicated race kite! We were also flying against an LEI and we all know how quick they are in a buggy and it was possible to keep up as well. This was all done keeping a line & gaining upwind stance. The 2.5 in nuts wind you can easily hit upper 30’s & low 40’s while holding a line & not feeing over powered or out of control! We test the 3.5 inland and easily got 37mph out of it!
Flatland Freestyle/Powerslides

This could be great for buggying in general! A lot of people are thinking that bugging is all about going airborn for the general buggyier and that aerial freestyle is what is all about! This kite is excellent, it holds power in the window very well and you can fly the kite over powered without being out of control. Powersliding through downturns are very nice & because of the speed of the kite the acceleration afterwards is intense! You can do nice big flatland spins but have to be carful not to move kite so much as the turning is very quick & it could catch you off guard!
Cliff Buggying / Exploring

We have been checking out a new local spot where it is possible to buggy down a cliff (100% NOT RECOMMENED IT COULD LEAD TO SERIOUS INJURY), because the kite has plenty of stability it is great to use and does not feel too out of control!

If you’re a buggier who wants to do a bit of exploring with the buggy and maybe have some possible locations that you could use then the Blurr is more than suited. With its quick speed & turning should you need to get out of a tight spot the kite will be where ever you want it to be very quickly. The power is very smooth & the acceleration while fast if you push it, is controllable.
Buggy Jumping
Pretty much any kite can be used for jumping! While the kite is not designed for jumping, you can jump with the 5.0 & 7.0. You really really have to work for it, swinging it hard and in the correct place to get lift. So for the majority of fliers you will not ever find it lifting you but should you want to do some, then you can get some out of the kite.
Landboarding / Recreational
The kite is surprisingly good on a landboard, don’t get me wrong its not the best kite but for cruising about and having fun powerslides on the sand or going quick with, then it is a good kite. You can get some jumps if you really work for them, but they are not the greatest!
Static flying on the beach is pretty smooth also with the Blurr, you can skud about happily with some pretty quick skuds if you work the kite. Again not great for jumping as you might have gathered but still good fun!
