FlexiWallopOne - 14.05.05

Wallop has always been known as the kite event to go to. Unfortunately down to a few reasons the August Wallop 04 was cancelled which meant i could not go to it. Because of the reason Flexifoil helped out and sponsored the event hence the new name Flexiwallop.

I travelled down with Charlie from Flexifoil, we set off in the morning and arrived mid afternoon on the Friday. When we arrived we help set the event up and were then on the gates for the evening. On Friday no traction kiting is allowed so we all had a mess about recreational flying.

That night the 1st of 3 parties kicked off with lots of drink games and fun taking place with most of the kiters getting very pissed! This went on into the early hours of the morning.

On Saturday Morning the wind was howling at about 30mph. This meant the field was pretty quiet so i went out on the 7.0 Sabre and had a really good session. Late afternoon the wind started to drop to about 18mph which allowed me to get out on my Blade 6.6 and have a good freestyle session.

Saturday night saw the main party kick off with lots of drinking games taking place again. Again it carried on into the early hours of the morning with us hobbling back to the tents which did take a very long time!

Sunday morning was a rather nasty morning with all of us felling a bit worse for wear after the night before antics. Unfortunately the wind was to low to even fly, so a group of us headed into town in the afternoon and had a nice pub meal.

Sunday night saw the film fest kick off with lots of entries been sent in to be entered into the competition. This was great fun and was good to see what people were up to around the country. Again lots of drinking took place but more people headed out earlier than previous nights. We all headed back towards the tents but unfortunately i tripped over a guy rope and my shoe came off and stubbed my toe on a concrete block that was on the airfield! This results in a dislocated and fractured toe and a trip to the local A&E at 2am.

Sunday morning was nice and windy but as of my injury was unable to fly so just took pics for it. Was a great shame to miss the days flying. That afternoon we helped pack up and left at around 4.30ish.
