This trip was organized by Peter Vanden Busche @ mellow, Flexifoil European distributor. He asked some of the UK members of the Flexifoil land team to go over and attend the X-Beach event, a 2 week event showcasing many different sports & activates in which kiting would occupy 2 days.
For these 2 days, myself, Dav, Mark & Rob demoed freestyle buggy at the event, with the International KItesurfing team demoing kitesurfing. Friday, the 1st day the wind was nuking at around 35mph so was a 4m day for all of us. The wind was nice and smooth with a fair amount of space on the beach was allowing us to get some mega jumps with great hangtime. Kitelooping was causis this day as you didn’t know what to expect which kept you on the edge all the time. Later in the afternoon as the wind dropped of we made full use of some sand mounds that were on the beach using these as terrain.
Friday night we headed over to a Local rib house and had the most amazing Ribs I have ever had in my life, so tasty. Later on the evening we headed to the mega party that was on site which lasted till the early hours of the morning.
Saturday morning we all felt a bit worse for wear but as Pete’s work collegue Carl had travlled down specially to see freestyle buggying I went out and had a session in the morning before the tide cam in for Carl to see what it was all about. Saturday afternoon Mark & Rob headed onto the water with Myself & Dave went out and buggied with some of the local riders. This was great for us to meet other riders who have different views on the sport.
All in all an amazing event with a great atmosphere to top it all off.
