This started on the Thursday when we traveled down to Poole to hook up with the Guys from Just add water who had arranged a sports festival each Thursday in August on the beach to promote sports and activities in the area. We arrived to low wind but still got the gear out on the beach and got the beer open! During the evening the wind picked at points so that we could get out flying and get the public flying also.
That night we travelled over to Bath for the night so that we could be up early to see Just add water there and train the staff about kiting and all the common Terms.
Mid Friday morning we set off and traveled down to Woolacombe Bay to see Gareth at On-Shore. That afternoon we hooked up with the local guys and went out for a Kitesurf. The wind was blowing at about 15-20mph with a nice clean swell of about 4-5 ft. We had a really epic session but as tide was coming in we had to pack up. That night we kipped over at Gareth's so that we could get a good nights kip!
Saturday morning we traveled back up to Bristol to hook up with the guys at Bristol Kite Store to try out the new gear. That afternoon they had arranged a Demo up on the park. Lots of the people turned up to try the new kites but alas the wind was light. so wasn't that great but luckily a Sunday demo had been arranged over at Porthcrawl in south wales.
Sunday morning was low wind but the sun was out and no clouds were to be seen. All the locals were saying a see breeze would come but we didn't hold our breath! To our amazement at around 12 the Wind picked to a nice bang on shore 15mph! As the water was nice and warm i put on my surf shorts and rashy and went out for a surf to start with. As the tide kept going out the beach was becoming more and more perfect for buggying so i went in and got changed and went for a session the buggy. The 6.6 was spot on allowing me to pull of some nice freestyle buggying for the afternoon.
Even though we planned to leave early as we were both having a great day we didn't leave till late on meaning we didn't get back till the early hours of the morning.
