Flexifoil Chalet!

View from Chalet

Well we woke to no wind at the Chalet, we headed down to the event site to show our faces and see what was going on.

Empty Snowboard Slopes!

As there was no wind at the event site we headed down to the Slopes to get some riding in! The slopes were amazing, they had just the right amount of fresh powder on them to make carving so smooth and clean. At the edges were several feet of fresh powder that we kept hitting! It really was an epic start to the trip!

Event advertised in all towns!

We had a good 3-5 hour snowboard session which was a good start to the trip. After the session we headed into town to stock up on food from the local supermarket and headed back to the chalet to chill out and relax into the evening.

- Sunday 10th January

Today we were in luck, we woke to some wind so we headed down to the event site to check it out and see what was going on! Arriving everyone was chilling out, Chasta set up and launched and headed up into the mountain! This meant there was wind so we started to unload the van! We got all the kit we needed, I went for my new IonFour 12.5 and started to make my way to the set up point about 40m up! The powder we had to walk through was 2-3ft deep! Not fun to walk through!

Setting up was a new experience in this much powder! After a set up I launched and headed into the hill. It was so odd the power from the kite as the wind is so different up in the hills. I wasn't as powered as i would like to have been but managed to ride ok. Knowing & seeing people getting massive airs and floats I played around with jumping to get use to the float but soon tried a few kite loops.

Today was the French Championships so we just free-rode, and watched some of the heats. Was weird seeing guys like Chasta & Jerome ride in the flesh was great to watch!

Van parked up at event spot!

>Team shattered after day snowkiting

Towards mid-afternoon the wind started to drop so we packed up and headed back down to the van! Least we got to ride some proper deep powder down to the van!

We headed back into town to get some more food and chilled at the Chalet then headed down to the town to the local bar.

Tomorrow we have Registeration for the World Champs at 9am tomorrow!
