With an injured back this was going to be more of a social event for myself, and good opportunity for me to catch up with everyone and chat about the launch of Issue 1 of IKITEMAG. As of the distance I travelled down on the Friday and arrived at Wills late afternoon. That evening we headed down into Westward Ho! To have a few drinks with the other riders who were down for the weekend.
Saturday morning didn’t look great, so myself & will didn’t take kite gear down to the beach, what a mistake, typically as we were chilling out the wind picked up so we rushed back to get the gear and come back.
The wind was light and slightly offshore but was not oo gusty in all fairness. With the vast amount of beach we all explored the area using the full area of it. It was a more of a chill out and relaxing sessin for all but was still good fun.
Saturday evening we headed into Bideford for the Pubs & Clubs, was a good night out until one shot killed me. It was 96% and it was a killer for sure. Sadly that was the end of my night.
Sunday again was little wind but we still headed down to the beach to chill out, with some games, including buring Richy’s buggy in the sand. We all managed to blame it on will which was most amusing.
At around lunch everyone started to make their ways back home, after 6 hours of driving I was finally home. A good weekend was had by all.
Essex Big Air Competeion
I wasn’t heading to the event to compete but to judge the event for the crew.
As had been the case for mst events this year the weather gods were against us
gave us no wind! Saturday was spent tow buggying & boarding around the
site, using the ramps as wakestyle. Very amusing.
Saturday evening was meant to be the prize giving but as no comps were held it turned into a film fest and party. With the temperatures so low camp fires were started to keep us warm, but most headed off early to keep as much heat as possible in our bodies.
Sunday morning again brought no wind, so we all made our ways home. Was sad to see no kiting as the event had looked liked being a good one.
